Motlow/Tennessee Tech University 2+2 Teaching Program- Graduated May 2009 Bachelors in Elementary Education K-6

After graduating from high school I began college at Motlow State Community College. I graduated from Motlow State Community College in 2007 with my Associates in Elementary Education. I then continued my career by receiving my Bachelors through Motlow/Tennessee Tech University 2+2 Program and graduated in 2009. This is my ninth year teaching Elementary School. Throughout my education I had practicums/student teaching in Kindergarten, First, Second, Fourth, and Sixth Grade in the Coffee County area. I worked as an Extended School Program employee at North Coffee and Site Director at New Union throughout college while also serving as a substitute teacher. Growing up watching my mother teach in her first grade classroom inspired me to pursure a career in Education. Working with children is the most rewarding career and I am so blessed to be a part of New Union Elementary!

My name is Nikki Alonso and this is my ninth year as an Elementary School Teacher. Through Motlow/Tennessee Tech's 2+2 Elementary Education program I had the opportunity to receive experience in several different grade levels in Kindergarten, First, Second, Fourth, and Sixth Grade. I have taught fourth grade for three years, third grade for three years, and this is my third year in First Grade! My heart has always been in First Grade due to growing up watching my mother teach in her first grade classroom. Watching her teach is what inspired me to pursue a career in Education. I have a wonderful supporting husband who is the SRO Officer at the 9th Grade Academy. He recently just graduated from Bethel University with his degree in Criminal Justice. Together we have a 6 year old daughter and 12 year old son. My hobbies are spending time with family, exercising, reading, fishing, and anything outdoors in the beautiful sunshine especially at the beach!
